Hi guys today we are going to be talking about another basic SEO topic, you know when you are starting off or thinking about starting a new website you will most likely think that whether you should create a blog or whether you should build a static website?
So first of all let me explain a static website is basically your traditional type website, it is where you know you build a page and you link to it from the homepage or the second page.
So basically it works like a tree, which means that you will have you top tier which is your homepage, your second tier which is maybe your soul pages and the your third and fourth pages which are your individual niche content pages!
And on the other side you have the blog which is usually described as an online diary but in reality it is just a website that is constantly updated,it is very new and fresh.
There is SEO benefits cited with both types of websites so what you truly want to ask yourself is the type of website that you want to build.
So for example if you are building a website that has a lot of news, you know not necessarily news based but it will be content which has to be constantly updated or for example if it is a website that has some sort of advice on it then a blog would be the perfect choice for you.
But on the flip side if you want to build something that is like a long term project, for example if the content that you put on that website is going to be there for the long term then a static website is best suited for you!
Now there is going to be exceptions for both you can mix a blog with a static website for example in Wordpress you can build a blog which is structured like a static website and vice versa.
So you can definitely mix both. But just to compare the two off i would say pick what you want based on the type of website that you are building and on top of that i would say that there is other SEO benefits to using blogs versus a static website
So in general a static website will not get the same kind of social media traction nor will it get the same number of links and it will not have as much of a long term following but saying that
static website's,their posts, their content tends to stay in the search engine results for a longer period of time for often much higher competitor searches!
So there is definitely a trade-off and i think it is definitely is all around the type of website that you are thinking of building.
Conclusion So there you have it guys that is how you can decide which website is best suited for you!
