This is a really common question among website/blog owners!
Web masters always put emphasis on the words 'how long?'
What you need to keep in mind is that SEO is always going to be a long term strategy. If you start approaching SEO with a quick win mentality it is just going to disappoint you and frustrate you.
If you take such an approach with SEO then you are going to lose your ranking as quickly as you get it.
For the majority of site owners who think this way and try to achieve over night success in terms of SEO these are typically the people that are tempted by black hat or qustionable SEO methods.
This is why you would see such people involved in link buying or you know investing in really cheap SEO packages to see quick results.
Now all of this stuff is total non sense and i will always make the recommendation for anyone who wants to do SEO that it is a long term approach and you should think of it asa long term approach!
Now when you do this you are going to build a website/blog that has some authority and power.
This way you will find that your site will perform for multiple terms as opposed to ranking for a handful of terms for just maybe one weekend!
So really it is a long term process.
Establishing relationships with other site owners, publishing amazing content and building an audience will get you the best results!
Now there is a way to increase site rank quickly but it involves getting some sort of exposure from any of the big outlets.
For example if you get some sort of news coverage through newspaper,TV or radio that can give you a significant boost in search results.
The problem with this is that you can't simply approach such outlets and ask them to write a piece about your website.
It just does not work that way.You will have to have something that is really news worthy if you want attention.
Now you can go about hiring agents that can help you make this happen but it's incredibly expensive like you would have to spend $10000 or more.
Obviously for the majority that is not going to be possible so again i recommend that you revert to taking the long term approach!
Build the best website that you possibly can,put your customers first, provide the best possible user eperience and of course think long term.
This way over time your site will perform well in Search engines!
So that is it for this article,
