In this article i am going to show the blueprint for keyword research!
You can use this tool to increase your traffic up to 460 percent.
So today you people are going to learn exactly how to find the best keywords, for your business.
When you first get started with SEO your approach towards keyword research may be total mess.
You may have tried to fire up the latest and greatest keyword research tool online and may have started typing in random keywords.
So what exactly is wrong with this approach?
The answer is that your competitor's may be doing the exact same thing.
That means that most of the keywords that you find will be insanely competitive.
So in this article i am going to tell you how you can uncover keywords that your competitor's may not know about.
So let's dive right in to how you can do this!
Identify your customer's persona This is a major step that most people skip and it hurts them.So you may be thinking what identifying your customer persona actually means?
Let me explain with an example. If your site sells products in the fitness industry, you may open up a keyword research tool and type in words like Fitness,Gym,Health etc
What is the problem with this approach. The first thing is what i mentioned before that your competition is doing the same thing.
Which means you are going to run into the exact same set of keywords as your competitor's.But more than that this approach ignores a very important fact about your customer and that fact is this:
Your customer spends 95 percent of the time online not searching for what you sell!
In other words if you only target your customers when they search for the exact same thing that you sell then you are missing out on hundreds of other opportunities to get in front of them.
For instance let's take the previous example about the fitness industry. Most of your customers are going to be in the fitness space.
So you should go to forums and online communities where fitness experts or people who are interested in this space hang out!
That way you could see what your target customers search for when they are not searching for the word 'Fitness'.
This way you will discover that they are dozens of keywords that your target customers type in to Google search, that were related to your products but had nothing to do with 'fitness'.
You will find keywords like
and more similar keywords that you were missing out on!
So if you could target these keywords then you could get your business in front of thousand's of people every single day.
And if your target customer is ready to buy, then your website will be the first thing that comes to their mind.
That is the power of doing keyword research for your customer persona.
Find Topics That Your Customers Care About The next step in this keyword research tutorial is to find topics that your customers care about!
So how do you find these topics?
It is simple go to where your target customer hangs out online then look for topics that they tend to discuss often.
That is it!
For example if you own a car business online then your potential customers may mostly hang on car forums or on car related websites.
Once you have identified where your target customer hangs out, it is time to keep out on topics that are interesting to them for example in the car community topics like spare parts, vinyls may be popular.
So you should write articles on these topics or try to promote such services on your site!
You should try to at least target 5 different topics that your customers are interested in.
Now that you have at least 5 different topics we will move on to the next step.
Keyword idea generation Here are 4 different ways to find keywords that most people don't know about!
The first is to use Google Suggest!
Jut head over to Google.com and type your topic into the search field after you are done with that don't press enter but instead look at the words that Google suggests to you.
These are usually awesome long tail keywords that you can go after.
A quick tip is to put long spaces before your keyword this will show you a completely different set of keyowrd ideas.
Next up you should use Quora.com.Quora is a massive e community that ask and answer questions related to basically anything. All you need to do is search for your topic on Quora and see which topics tend to show up.
Our next technique to find keywords is to use Reddit.com.Like Quora Reddit is also a massive community of people that discuss every topic they can.
To use Reddit for keywords simply search for your keyword on Reddit and when you find a thread on your topic keep an eye up for keywords and phrases that tend to show up again and again.
these make awesome keyword ideas.
Next up we have googles Search's related to feature. To use this feature simply type your target keyword in to Google's search bar then click on search after you see different results show up you need to scroll to the bottom of the results Google will then show you other keywords that are related to your keyowrd.
These are usually excellent long tail keywords that you can target within your content.
Finally we have Wikipedia. No other sites has in depth articles like Wikipedia.
To use Wikipedia for keyword research simply go to Wikipedia search bar and type in your topic. Then what you want to do is take a look at other entries that, that article links to!
These are usually closely related topics and even potentially keywords themselves. Also make sure to check out the table of content for your entry, these are topics related closely to your keyword!
Now that we are done with this part let us move on to the next part.
Analyze Each keywords Commercial Intent Commercial intent simply means how likely someone is searching for a given keyword is to buy from you!
Here is how to find out if your keyword has a high commercial intent or not.
First head over to the Google keyword planner and type in one of your potential keyword. Then take a look at the suggested bid column, this will show you how much advertisers are spending on adwords for a single click from this keyword.
The higher the suggested bid the more valuable the keyword is.
Another simple way to size up a commercial intent is to see how many ad word ads appear in when you search for your keyword in Google.
If you type in a keyword into Google and see a lot of ad word ads that means that people chopping at the bit to bring those searchers to their site!
Ok so now it is time for our last method which is
Look At each keywords Search Volume You can't,see the exact number of times a keyword has been shown in Google keyword planner anymore!
Today unless you are running AdWord Campaigns they show you unhelpful search volumes range.
So how can you see how many people search for your keyword?
There are two tools the first is
to find a keyword search volume you simply have to type in a keyword in to SEMrush and they will show you how many searches that particular keyword gets every month.
You can also use kwfinder.com again all you have to do is just type in a keyword and you can see how many searches that keyword gets in a month!
There is something else that you should try to but this is completely optional and that is to look at your keywords growth in Google trends.
For example you found two similar keyword that had similar search volume and commercial intent but you can't decide on which you should pick.
Here is what you should do look at Google trends. There you can see the comparison between the two keywords to see which one is growing in popularity and which one's popularity is dropping.
Conclusion Ok so that is all that is to this article. If you follow all these methods then it is just a matter of creating content around these keywords to boost your rankings!
I hope this helps you out.
