This article in particular is for all of those skeptics out there that have, told us that blogging is not a real job.
Now i have received my fair share of condescending looks when i tell people that i blog!
And people kind of look at me,like is the blogging business a real job?
Is that like an adult job?
There is a good amount of people who start a blog but that does not necessarily mean that they have a blogging business!
To turn a blog into a business you have to spend a good amount of time to turn it in to a business!
So to give you a little bit of clarity, here are factors that i think go into a blog business.
obviously there are tons of factors but here are some of the most important one's!
A niche that provides value Successful blogs have a focused niche that inspires their readers or helps them in some way new.A successful blog or a blogging business is not a diary!
No body but your mom is going to want to read your diary and even then she is not going to pay you for it!
The Blog itself is only a portion of the business Your blog is just one small puzzle piece of your entire business!
Now you may have noticed that bloggers just don't have a single blog they have multiple blogs and also they rely on Youtube, email lists, affiliate marketing, collaboration with other bloggers..the list goes on and on but the main point is that your blog is just one super hero in your entire game!
There are multiple income streams A successful blogging business has multiple income streams!
if the internet has ever given you the impression that you can earn money by simply creating a blog then that is far from the truth!
I want you to take that idea, then i want you to crumble it up and then throw it away,i know it sounds harsh but i am not going to give you unrealistic expectations,it takes a lot of time and a lot of effort to score a $2000 sponsor post or to have a $10000 product launch and in the meantime if you are willing to put in all that hard work then GREAT for you!
But you and i both know that you want to make money and the only way to do that is to ensure that you have multiple income streams, because it all adds up!
Have a business mindset Just having a business mindset is necessary,it sounds kind of crazy but you should never take your blogging business lightly and you should never think of your blog as just a blog!
Let's do an activity
i want you to close your eyes, and imagine that your blog is a store,a physical location that people are going to visit now and when your customers come in (which are your readers) they need to be mesmerized or you need to offer them something amazing otherwise they are going to walk in there and say this place is kind of boring and they are just going to leave,
If you are actually physically there and you heard readers say that or customers say that it would be so depressing. So having this mindset and kind of viewing your blog as an actual physical location that people are going to visit will definitely mean that you are going in the right direction.
You have to look at your blog as a real business.
conclusion after you look at your blog as a business you have to focus on 3 main things!
Finding and creating the time to actually put in to your blogging
The second thing is finding value, meaning how is it that you can consistently help your customers out
The last thing is simply being committed to investing in the resources or the team that you need to make your blogging business run as smoothly as possible
So these are all the things that you need to watch out for,i know some of this can be a little over whelming but please don't give up.Blogging is a long journey it will take time for you to succeed!
